Communications
Great communication starts with something great to say. Good thing you're doing such great work!
YOU ARE...
A non-profit seeking to communicate with your donors, and with potential donors, and with the world. You want to say the right things, send the right messages, and share the right stories.
You want people to understand what you're doing, and to get on board, so you can reach more people.
you've got something to say
Sometimes you'll be talking to donors or clients. You'll be emailing them, speaking to them at events or presenting a case for support to them. Whatever you've got in mind to say, I can help you figure out how to say it.
Sometimes you'll be talking to those who aren't on board just yet - or never will be. All good work has its opponents! Communicating with those outside the fold has its tricky moments, so let me help you put your best foot forward.
And sometimes, you'll just want to overhaul. Start from scratch - or close to it. Whether you're developing a style guide or a strategy, I'm here for you.
WHY ELisABETH?
Turning testimonies of your organisation's value into beautifully written stories of impact is one of my deepest joys and greatest skills.
Non-profits, take note: I've worked for non-profits since I was 16. I know what matters to you. I know how your governance structures work, how you're accountable to so many people, and how communication is just as much about how and when you say things, as it is about what you say.
So what can elisabeth DO?
Here's just a taste of the communication I can write, edit or review. If it's not on this list, it doesn't mean I can't do it! It might just mean you're very innovative ;)
- Marketing and communications strategy - understanding your audience, planning content and evaluating effectiveness.
- Blog posts - sharing stories of impact with your supporters, clients and potential fans.
- Social media copy - dropping into people's lives to give them a snapshot of what's been happening.
- Articles - leading thought, informing, engaging and inspiring.
- Website copy - whether it's a corporate-style website, a donor-centric site or a gateway for people needing to access your services.
- Annual reports - turning facts and statistics into heartwarming proof of your world-changing work.
- Speeches and presentations - writing your speech and making your PowerPoint (or Keynote or Prezi...) pop.
- Media releases - engaging with the media to reach more people and make more difference.
- Editorial style guides - producing or editing a guide to ensure your communication is professional and on message.
- Crisis communication - just in case something does go wrong and you need to handle the flow of the story.
